The Dirty Hippie Artist
A little about Me
Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Sarah J, a.k.a. The Dirty Hippie Artist.
I have been "artsy" since before I can remember, often doodling on any available surface. As I grew, my interests grew. In my middle school and high school years, I spent as much time as possible in art classes. Drawing and painting were a natural way to express who I was when I didn't have the right words.

After graduating from high school in 2015, it took me a while to decide what felt right. After a few years of working odd jobs, taking college courses part-time, and learning to take care of myself, I graduated with my Associate of Fine arts in Spring of 2021 from Anoka-Ramsey Community College.

During my time at ARCC, I was able to learn about a variety of different art forms and given encouragement to expand a few of my existing hobbies. This included photography, photoshop, and graphic design.

I was also re-introduced to an ancient artform that I have been interested in since a young age, but rarely had the means to practice; thrown ceramics. After nearly a decade away from the wheel, I had access to equipment and knowledgeable professionals, and I was ready to learn. In the years since my first ceramics class at ARCC, it has grown into my biggest passion.

Knowing something I made can make someone else's day a bit brighter feeds my soul a little.
